Digital Picking System (DPS)

The digital picking system (DPS) uses light modules instead of invoices or order lists on paper. It is a paperless operation to place or put goods. It is used widely to support distribution in industries that have a large number of SKU items (e.g. service parts), that require absolutely no delivery erros (e.g. medicine and medical parts), that have a complicated bill of material (e.g. assembly parts).

Key Features

  • Digital picking - a light-directed order fulfillment system means using digital light modules to pick or take out items from a stored location to fulfill an order for delivery;
  • Parts supply - a system that provides instructions to light modules to pick necessary parts according to the production plan in an assembly line;
  • Inventory counting - it supports the inventory operation by displaying the quantity of stock stored in the computer on the light module;
  • Replenish alert - a system that supports replenishment of goods by providing instructions to light modules;

Key Benefits

  • Productivity enhancement - enables the worker to find the location and exact amount for the pick/put operation quickly and intuitively by means of lights and LED displays;
  • Error reduction - converts order information into digital picking instructions and using lights to guide the worker to the exact product location to avoid product-recognition related errors;
  • Timely inventory counting - receives picking and putting product quantity information at reat time by confirming or keying-in information into the digital keypad at storage lots;
