Value-added Technology (Barcoding, SMS, GPS)
CNL has coutinuously invested in evaluating and experimenting with emerging and mature technologies that can improve operational efficiency,
reduct operational cost and enhance customer satisfaction. Aside from information system and digital picking system,
we have also implemented these technologies including barcoding, mobile positioning system, GPS and SMS messages in many projects.
Barcoding
We have partnered with leading barcoding and scanner companies like Symbol and Casio to provide barcoding and scanning service. We have developped solutions based on barcoding to:
- Prohibit cross-region sales - by collecting shipment barcodes and associating barcodes to sales orders.
- Track inventory aging - by enforcing barcode scanning at putaway and picking time.
GPS & MPS
We have equipped our fleets with GPS system to ensure the highest level of care and safety to customers' shipment.
We have also piloted mobile positioning technology as a cost-effective and flexible alternative solution to GPS.
This technology has enabled CNL to:
- Track shipment location - by equipment fleets with GPS or MPS system.
- Visualize shipment routes - by integrating location information with GIS system to mark shipment locations onto electronic maps.
Mobile Messaging (SMS)
We have deployed mobile messaging (SMS) platforms to send & receive text messages. We leverage this technology to:
- Confirm shipment - by asking shippers and receivers can send messages to the platform to confirm shipment delivery.
- Broadcast notification - by using computer-based system to send hundreds of messages to target groups instantly.
